Brief Class Descriptions

Learn to Skate - Skaters begin by learning the basics and moving from Snow Plow Sam (Tots) through eight levels. This is a fun and relaxed environment for all ages. Groups are formed with skaters of similar age and skill for once a week classes. We hold classes for ages three through adults.

Bridge Class: The Bridge Program is designed to teach skating skills at a faster pace in a group lesson. It is designed to bridge the span from Learn to Skate through Figure Skating Levels. This is recommended for skaters in Basic 7 through Freeskate 6 that are looking to be more competitive with their skating.

Academy: This class is designed for the skater that has entered into the Figure Skating test system. Students must have passed at least the Pre-Preliminary Moves in the Field test to be eligible for this class, or as a Freeskate 2 level you may come for a special prcie the eighth week of the session to see if you qualify for following session. This class will focus on power skating, edges, stroking, and move elements. This class is designed to improve skating for our competitive skaters.

Off-Ice Dance/Stretch & Conditioning for Skaters: These classes will get you in shape for the ice. Activities will include stretching, balance, body alignment, and jump preparation . These classes are recommended for Bridge and Academy skaters.

Synchro Team: Designed for adults that have mastered the very basics of skating. This group allows participants to enjoy the team performance sport of synchronized skating, while meeting new friends and getting some great exercise.

Ice Dance: Designed for teen and adult skaters that have mastered the very basics of skating. This class focuses on the discipline of ice dance. Footwork, and edging is the focus, this is a non-jumping class.
