The Jacksonville Ice Basic Skills Learn to Skate Program runs throughout the year and are taught by U.S. Figure Skating Certified instructors.
Skaters begin by learning the basics starting with Snow Plow Sam (Tots) through 8 levels of Basic Skills and Adults level 1-4. Basic Skills group classes offer a fun and relaxed environment for skaters of all skill levels. Groups are formed with skaters of similar age and skill.
Participants meet once a week for a 30-minute class followed by 20 minutes of supervised practice time. Sessions are 8-weeks long with achievement testing during the seventh week of class. Skaters may earn achievement badges or certificates as they advance through the U.S. Figure Skating Association curriculum. At the end of each eight week session we will hold a recital for all Basic Skills Skaters.
